GIRLS TENNIS: Monte beats Tenino, 3-2

MONTESANO — The Bulldogs lost just five games in sweeping three singles matches against Tenino en route to a 3-2 victory on Thursday.

Monte’s top singles player, Rachel Ayres, defeated Rhian Mathis 6-1, 6-2 and Sophie Barre and Anna Ayres defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0, respectively, to lead the Bulldogs.

Monte is now 5-1 in the Evergreen 1A league after Tuesday’s 4-1 win over King’s Christian and the victory over Tenino. The Bulldogs sit one game behind Castle Rock in second place.
