Eagles win in three

ELMA — Dominant from the beginning, Elma clinched at least a share of the Evergreen 1A League title with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-22 win over Tenino on Thursday.

Baylee Crisp was a big part of her team’s offense and had 20 assists in the match. Quin Mikel also had a strong game and had 11 kills and provided a lot of energy to her squad.

The team played well despite the absence of starting setter Kenna Stoney.

Elma head coach Kendra Henry said she was proud of the way her team adjusted.

“I think we did a good job coming in, not having their normal line-up and adjusting to it,” Henry said. “Baylee and Quinn did a really good job stepping up.”

Elma also won the JV match, 25-22, 25-15.

The Eagles (6-0, 11-1) visit Hoquiam on Tuesday.
