Energy, confidence and consistent play help Elma overcome two set deficit

CHEHALIS — Jalyn Sackrider contributed seven kills and four aces as Elma beat Class 2A Chehalis, 25-11, 25-10, in a non-league match Thursday at Chehalis.

Kenna Stoney also had seven kills, while Maddie Clark served three aces for the Eagles (5-1). Elma rebounded nicely from its Tuesday loss to 2A power Black Hills.

“We came out with a lot of energy, played consistent the whole time and played with a lot of confidence,” Eagle coach Kendra Henry said.

Chehalis won the JV match, 25-11, 25-10.
