Shirley Jeanette Emery, 82 years of age and a longtime Montesano, Washington area resident, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at her home near Montesano.

Shirley Jeanette Emery, 82 years of age and a longtime Montesano, Washington area resident, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at her home near Montesano. She was born on Dec. 18, 1936, in Junction City, Washington to Wesley Norman and Etta Mae (Savage) Wage, Sr.

She was raised and attended the schools in Aberdeen and worked on the family farm.

She was married to David Alan Emery and he and Shirley moved to the Brady, Washington area in 1960 where they had since lived and raised their six children.

Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, camping, nature walks, stacking firewood, listening to the oldies (country music) while she went cruising around with her husband, David, having coffee at Walmart and going to the area county fairs. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She will long be remembered for having fought, but, lost her battle with cancer.

Shirley is survived by her husband, David Alan Emery Sr. of the family home; three sons, Donald Edward Emery of Elma, David Alan Emery Jr. of Centralia and Ira Glenn Emery of Elma; three daughters, Debra Jean Christman of Elma, Gloria Lynn Neal of Montesano and Valerie Jane Emery of Montesano; two sisters, Verna Jean Vessey of Aberdeen and Delores Foster of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Wesley Norman Wage Jr. of Aberdeen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

At her request there be no formal funeral service.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam, Washington.
