Norman A. Moe passed away on Dec. 12, 2018, in Montesano, Wash.

Norman A. Moe passed away on Dec. 12, 2018, in Montesano, Wash. He was born in Bemidji, Minn. on Jan. 29, 1925.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1943. He completed four war patrols on Submarine USS Gurnard (SS254). He was medically discharged in 1950. He was a life member of the United States Sub. Vets WWII. He went to Shipwright school on the GI bill. Then went on to own and operate commercial fishing boats.

As a Master Shipright, Norman held a passion for building quality commercial fishing boats. He was known on the west coast for his amazing ability to build and repair any ship.

Norman was proceeded in death by his wife Jeanette and son’s John Moe and Mikkel Moe. He is survived by sons: Norton Moe of Bremerton, Wash. and James Moe of Montesano, Wash.; daughter Janice Undem of Aberdeen, Wash.; longtime caregiver and friend Martha Siglin and nine grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2019, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3101 Cherry St., Hoquiam, WA 98550.
