Lois passed peacefully with her children by her side on Oct. 19, 2017, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

She was born at home in Brady, Wash. to Lawrence and Gertrude Sargent and attended schools in Montesano. She married her first husband, Byron Lawson, raised four children in Montesano and worked to supplement the family income.

In 1968, Lois and the children moved to Morro Bay, Calif. She married her second husband, J. R. Johnson of Morro Bay Oyster Co., and was blessed with a son.

Lois is remembered for her love, sweet smile and for her open door to family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Lois is survived by her daughters Diane Calvillo of Morro Bay and Janice Gardner (Richard) of Los Osos, her sons Doug Lawson (Sharon Hill) of Santa Margarita and James Johnson (Candice) of Las Vegas, Nev., 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister Kathryn Leetham (Gerald) of Morro Bay, a brother Jim Sargent (Lisa) of Sacramento. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister Darlene Moore, daughter Gail Boyle, son-in-law Albert Calvillo and great-grandson Aaron Calvillo.

Burial at Los Osos Valley Cemetery, Los Osos, Calif.
