Elisabeth B. (Wyman) Haubrick, age 76, died from natural causes on Feb. 7, 2017, at her home in Montesano.

Elisabeth B. (Wyman) Haubrick, age 76, died from natural causes on Feb. 7, 2017, at her home in Montesano. Known as Bette by many of her friends, she was born May 2, 1940 in Tacoma, Wash. to Donald S. Wyman and Amy E. (Bentley) Wyman.

Much of her childhood was spent in the Beaver Washington area. She graduated from Montesano High School in 1959. She went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She married Herbert Haubrick Dec. 29, 1962. He preceded her in death May 28, 2016.

Mrs. Haubrick worked for a time at Forks Community Hospital as an LPN. When her first child was born, she became a “stay at home” mother. In 1969, the family moved to a small farm in the Port Angeles area. She was active in the Grange, Boy Scouts, The Order of the Eastern Star, and for a time was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician with Clallam County Fire District 3. In 2011 she and her husband moved to Montesano.

Mrs. Haubrick enjoyed playing the piano, camping, baking, public service, and being involved in her children’s activities. She was awarded the Silver Beaver by the Boy Scouts of America for outstanding service.

Surviving family members include two sisters, Jean Denson of Coquille, Ore., Jan Thacker of Colorado Springs, Colo., a foster sister, Taylor Pattainen of Shelton, Wash., three sons, Hebert (Bert) Haubrick of Montesano, Donald Haubrick of Sequim, Pete Haubrick of Forks, a daughter, Mary Whitehurst of Dothan, Ala., and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Montesano. Interment and graveside service will follow at the Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano. A reception will be held at St. Johns following the graveside service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Montesano Firefighters Association.
