Travelers to and from Montesano should expect some delays this week.

The state Department of Transportation set work on the U.S. Highway 12 on- and off-ramps to the city between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, and today, Sept. 19.

“(Travelers) will encounter one-way alternating traffic with flaggers,” said Tina Werner, spokeswoman for the DOT in an email. “… Crews will remove abandoned rail tracks embedded in the roadway and concrete panels. … Both ramps will remain open to traffic on Wednesday and Thursday, but drivers should expect brief delays during the removal and paving portions of the project.”
