Satsop School News — Windy days weathered

Fall fundraiser wrapping up…

Wow. The winds on Oct. 14 brought quite a bit of excitement to the Satsop student body. All were safe and warm, and most of the students were here for the whole day. As part of the kindergarten/first-grade room, I was thankful our field trip to the pumpkin patch was not scheduled for that day. I don’t know which would have been worse — going there on a day like that or cancelling a field trip. We are going to the pumpkin patch, but not until the Oct. 27.

We have three of our students we would like to recognize as recipients of the “Caught Being Good “award. Those students are Randi Conrad, Adamariez Santoya and Zaviar Nelson. All of those kids have been helpful to our school in exceptional ways, and we appreciate them.

We are just wrapping up our fall fundraiser. Several of the students are working diligently selling items to their friends and family members. The money the school receives from the fundraiser helps pay for field trips and school activities. So far the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students have had a trip to the Puyallup Fair, the kindergarten and first-grade students are going to the pumpkin patch and the whole school will enjoy a carnival on Oct. 31. We hope you were able to support the fundraiser if asked.

There doesn’t seem to be too much interesting news to report, but we just want you to know we survived another storm. If these old walls could talk there would be much to tell of the 114 years they have stood through.
