A list of calls received by the Elma Police Department

Nov. 14

Non-injury hit-and-run accident. W. Main St. and N. 5th St. 9:09 a.m. Reporting party’s vehicle was clipped by a semi-truck. The semi continued southbound towards SR12. Reporting party was uninjured.

Suspicious person. 100 block E. Young St. 3:54 p.m. An elderly male was carrying a bag with a knife pointing out of it.

Nov. 13

Disorderly conduct. 100 block W. Martin St. 4:12 p.m. Reporting party’s adult son was reported to be outside breaking items and as having broken a window to the residence.

Traffic hazard. State Route 12 eastbound near mile post 20. 4:43 p.m. Male subject walking in the lane of travel in dark clothing was later reported walking into town near the Shell and Texaco gas stations. The man was reported to be jumping towards passing vehicles.

Shop lift. 305 S. 3rd St.: Shell station. 6:15 p.m. An approximately 45-year-old white female subject was reported as having merchandise in her pocket.

Nov. 12

Hazardous material. 609 E. Main St.; Del Cris Grocery. 7:30 a.m. About 8-10 gallons of gas spilled on ground after customer went into store with her child and the pump did not automatically shut off. Police cordoned off area for ecology authorities.

Unknown problem. 1200 block W. Young St. 1:12 p.m. Call came in on non-emergency line in which a small child could be heard giving an address with sounds of an adult male with raspy voice in the background. No call back number was available but officers went to check area.

Verbal argument. 300 block S. 2nd St. 2:42 p.m. Verbal argument reported over the reporting party finding her laundry having been removed from the washing machine before it was finished. Dispatch could hear the other female yelling in the background upon taking the call.

Nov. 11

Unlawful display of a weapon. 126 Anderson Place. 2:58 a.m. A man was reported to be displaying a gun and threatening to shoot people. He left the location in a pickup before being stopped by police.

Burglary report. 300 block 2nd St. 4:16 p.m. Reporting party just moved in and believes someone was on the back porch trying to break into the residence.

Vehicle theft. 300 block S. 2nd St. 4:45 p.m. A two-door gold Saturn was reported stolen.

Nov. 10

Suspicious circumstances. 800 block E. Main St.; Guesthouse. 10:14 a.m. Male was trying to gain entry to an employee vehicle with a set of keys.

DUI alcohol or drugs. Wakefield Rd. and South Bank Rd. 9:19 p.m. A van, which was reportedly being driven recklessly, hit a guard rail before taking off. Authorities stopped vehicle.
