Hundreds pack downtown Montesano for annual Festival of Lights parade

Awards handed out for top parade entries.

Downtown Montesano was packed with hundreds of people Saturday evening for the 2018 Festival of Lights parade.

Taking the sweepstakes award was an entry from Quigg Brothers Construction. The Hoquiam Loggers Playday entry was awarded best of theme. The Grand Marshal’s award went to the Catholic Parishes of Western Grays Harbor and Forks entry. The parade ended with a tractor pulling the yule log into Fleet Park, where the Jingle Lights display continues through Dec. 22, with showings at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Dec 13-15 and Dec. 20-22.

The show is free; donations will be accepted Dec. 13-15 for Scouts BSA Troop 7, and Dec. 20-22 for the Montesano Co-op Preschool.
