GHC biology instructor holds talk on human factors on aquatic life

The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust will sponsor a talk, “Human Impacts on the Aquatic System” at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Grays Harbor College.

The speaker will be Amanda Gunn, PhD, a biology instructor at the college. She also runs the Grays Harbor Fish Lab and is an avid volunteer.

The session seeks to describe the measurable differences in stream microbial populations as related to human impact in forest, residential and industrial areas. Simple interventions to minimize these impacts will be described. Following the talk, tours of the GHC Fish Lab will be optional.

The talk will be held in room 4134 of the Schermer Building. For more information, visit chehalislandtrust.org
