Calls recently received by the Elma Police Department.

Aug. 26

Suspicious person. 1000 block W. Main St. 2:31 p.m. Request check on white male walking in front of school. Stood at the door for approximately five minutes but never came in. Has walked by the school three times, is currently on foot. Last seen wearing no shirt, tattoos.

Report of prowler. First block Murray Place. 10:10 p.m. Reporting party is house sitting and believes someone has shined a flashlight into the window. Also heard voices. Reporting party is recalling, believes someone was at the front door. Dog is on edge.

Aug. 27

Vehicle theft. 100 block W. Martin St. 7:02 a.m. Dark gray Toyota driven by friend who did not have permission to drive it. Possibly en route to Puyallup.

Trespass. 400 block Oak Lane. 10:47 p.m. Second hand that there are subjects camping behind their house in the woods. No problem, area has ben vacated.

Aug. 28

Theft. 600 block E. Young St. 12:34 p.m. Subject stole reporting party’s dog, Miniature Pinscher, Max.

Aug. 29

Fire or aid responding. 300 block W. Main St. 1:54 p.m. Smoke coming from area behind location. Smoldering grass pile.

Aug. 30

Burglary report. 1500 block W. Main St. 2:50 a.m. Someone broke into store, owner is on site. Door is broken into, two suspects both wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. First suspect wore a black hat and black mask with a black hoodie. The second work a black mask, baseball cap and gray hoodie.
