Simpson Says

It’s December and there’s a lot going on at Simpson School. There are lots of exciting activities that go with Food Bowl like spirit week and pie in the face. We also had, R-A-K, word of the month assembly, career guest speakers, family fun night and winter concerts.

Food Bowl is where we raise money and canned food and donate it to the foodbank for people who need it. Some of the activities we did to raise money were spirit week and pie in the face. Spirit week is a week that you dress up for each day. You have to pay a dollar each day you participate in dressing up.

There were lots of amazing students that got the word of the month award for November. The word for November was “courage.” The students who won the award for third grade are Addisyn Rux, Cade Schoenbachler, Makena Blancas, Maylissa Stewart and Zoe Ray; fourth grade, Ashlynn Fuller, Addisyn Meservey, Brenden Snyder, Emily Kuntz and Rufus Krasowski; fifth grade, Emma Gulke, Jessie LaLonde, Madison Lundgren, Samantha Schweppe, Willobelle Valentine and Zariah Jackson; sixth grade, Ava Couch, Bailey Morrison, Envayelin Arevalo Martinez and Geogia Gill. Congratulations winners.

Another thing going on at Simpson is career guest speakers. The first career guest speaker that came to Simpson was Officer Nelson from the Montesano Police Department at the end of November. Students who are thinking about that career when they grow up got to listen to him talk about his job. We also are expecting a airline pilot soon as well as representatives from other professions so students may have the opportunity to hear presentations and ask questions about their careers.

This year the Christmas family fun night was themed “A Hawaiian Christmas.”

Last but not least, there was a lot of R-A-K going on. R-A-K means random acts of kindness. Classes R-A-K other classes with a little gift or kind note and make their day.
