Here’s what has kept them busy recently.

Aug. 21

Malicious mischief: 300 block of North Sylvia Street, Montesano. 9:26 a.m. One person “booked for burglary.”

Traffic hazard: First block of Eileen Lane, Montesano. 9:02 p.m. Male with guitar standing in middle of the road and will not move.

Aug. 22

Animal problem: West Pioneer Avenue and South 10th Street, Montesano. 8:43 a.m. Dog with red collar in roadway. Owner advised. Unknown how dog gets out of fenced yard. Dog returned to residence on its own accord.

Suspicious person: 1300 block of State Route 12, Wynooche Bridge, Montesano. 7:37 p.m. Reporting party saw a subject on the westbound bridge. No description available. Officer checked area and did not see anybody.

Animal problem (lost-and-found): 300 block of North River Street, Montesano. 9:44 p.m. Small white dog, recently groomed, wearing choke collar, no tags, taken to Grays Harbor veterinarian.

Report of prowler: 2300 block of East Beacon Avenue, Montesano. 9:49 p.m. Reporting party says he heard somebody in his garage, went outside and saw a shadow. Reporting party yelled at suspect, believed male. Suspect yelled back then fled on foot through reporting party’s backyard.

Trespass: 400 block of South Fourth Street, Montesano. 10:50 p.m. Reporting party saw white female go through the side gate. Unknown if she gained entry to residence. Believes it could be previous owner, who was evicted. Previous owner contacted. Says she was at old residence looking for lost dog. Officer went to Grays Harbor veterinarian and returned dog to woman.

Abandoned vehicle: 100 block of South First Street. 2:34 p.m. Vehicle tagged. Will be checked again in 72 hours.

Suspicious person/circumstance: Devonshire Road, Milepost 7, Montesano. 5:46 p.m. Contacted 5 individuals parked on gravel bar at Twin Bridges. No problems.

Aug. 24

Trespass: 700 block of West Spruce, Montesano. 2:26 p.m. Reporting party following up on property dispute. Says he has video of man crossing onto his property and wanted to file a trespass charge. Man told over telephone that notice of trespass was issued and is in effect, advised not to go onto property. Man advised he understood.

Aug. 25

Rescue needed: 1700 block of Sylvia Lake Road, Lake Sylvia State Park, Montesano. 3:47 p.m. Reporting party got lost in trails. Unsure how to get back. She is at Marker 41. Officer transported her to park facilities, where she was met by family.

Custody dispute: 100 block of Brumfield Avenue, Montesano. 7:52 p.m. Reporting party states subject stated via email that he would not exchange custody of children today. Reporting party advised “they have court over this tomorrow.” Officer attempted to contact subject. He did not answer.

Domestic violence act in progress: 600 block of East Elma Avenue, Montesano. 1:49 p.m. Subject booked for domestic violence assault, domestic violence malicious mischief.

Aug. 26

Harassment: 500 block of South Main Street, Montesano. 7:26 p.m. Reporting party states subject drove by in silver vehicle and yelled homosexual slander toward him. Reporting party stated he did not know subject.

Aug. 27

Malicious mischief: 100 block of Brumfield Avenue. 9:55 a.m. Reporting party’s driver-side tires slashed.
