Here’s what has kept them busy recently.

Aug. 10

Found property: First block of State Route 107, Montesano. 2:51 p.m. Reporting party found two bicycles on his property. Bicycles taken to Montesano Police Department.

Suspicious person: 100 block of West Broadway Avenue, Montesano. 7:56 p.m. Man outside of Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office jail yelling. Gone prior to arrival.

Malicious mischief: 100 block of North River Street, Montesano. 8:50 a.m. Window broken near basement door.

Aug. 11

Subject stop: 100 block of West Broadway Avenue, Montesano. 3:38 p.m. Man was yelling at inmates in the jail. Subject said he had recently been released. Advised to stop yelling and move along.

Aug. 12

Civil matter: 400 block of South Third Street, Montesano. 10:31 a.m. Man attempting to pick up brother-in-law’s dog. Woman refused to give him the dog saying her daughter had given the dog to woman’s grandson. Divorce decree states brother-in-law is to get the dog. Woman, advised of this, stated the dog is not leaving. Man said he would make no further contact with woman.

Civil matter: 200 block of South Main Street, Montesano. 8:50 p.m. Reporting party says his card did not go through at restaurant and he was going to run home to get the money to pay.

Aug. 13

Noninjury vehicle accident: 100 block of Brumfield Avenue, Montesano. 3:39 p.m. Collision at the gas pumps at Monte Square. Motorhome cut corner, struck silver Kia. Insurance information was exchanged.

Aug. 14

Agency assist: 100 block of Brumfield Avenue. Montesano. 3:56 a.m. Male loitering outside. Male came in and asked for ambulance, complained of chest pains. Is conscious, behaving normally. Aid transported person to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Aug. 15

Theft: 100 block of Brumfield Avenue, Montesano. 10:53 a.m. Hand truck stolen from location.

Wildlife animal problem: First block of Monte-Elma Road, Montesano. 5:20 p.m. Group of five juvenile boys poking owl with a stick. Owl is standing up looking at them. Reporting party was driving by. Checked area and did not locate an animal or any juveniles.

Traffic hazard: Westbound State Route 12 and South Main Street, Montesano. 10:38 p.m. Large dead beaver in the middle of the road. It was moved to shoulder.

Trespass: 400 block of South Main Street, Montesano. 11: 05 p.m. Subject intoxicated and stranded in Monte. He arrived on bus. Did not have a plan on how to get home. Subject spoke with son, who would pick him up from a store in Tumwater. Subject driven to Tumwater.

Aug. 16

Report of prowler: 400 block of North Eighth Street, Montesano. 2:29 p.m. Reporting party saw male juvenile on her deck. He saw her and took off. Officers searched the area but did not locate anybody.

Harassment report: 700 block of West Spruce Avenue, Montesano. 5:16 p.m. Reporting party says ugly face drawn in chalk in the alley by his driveway.

Threats received: Reporting party met subject online. He tried to send her a package postage due. Believing it to be a scam, reporting party reported subject to app developers. Reporting party then received threatening texts.

Aug. 17

Report of fraud/blackmail: 400 block of South Main Street, Montesano. 2:05 p.m. Fraudulent check accepted.

Theft: First block of Poplar Road, Montesano. 6:56 p.m. Reporting party checking on parent’s home found an extension cord leading to neighbor’s home. Officer unable to contact neighbor. Extension cord removed. Neighbor advised not to do it anymore the following day.

Aug. 19

Noninjury accident blocking: First block of Meadow Loop, Montesano. 9:17 p.m. One vehicle crashed facing south, blocking westbound lane. Major damage to passenger side front end. All four airbags deployed. No blood seen on driver’s side. Found wallet, cellphone and keys to vehicle. Subject missing. Subject faces hit-and-run and negligent driving charges.

Aug. 23

Burglary report: 1000 block of Sylvia Lake Road, Montesano. 10:11 a.m. Tools taken over weekend. No suspects. Entry unknown.
