Simpson Says

By Halen Hall-Christian

Simpson is full of a bunch of fun things when it comes closer to the end of the year.

On field day there were eight different games. The first game was a obstacle course and you had to jump over things and duck under other things. The next station was ladder ball. The third station was tug of war. The fourth station was when you had to throw a javelin and see whose went the furthest. The fifth station was disc golf. That one was easy. The sixth station was to throw a football through a hula hoop. The two sides were two points and the middle was five points. The seventh group was slingshot a water balloon at William, the custodian. If you hit the blue bucket or made it in the bucket you got a candy bar. The last station was a sack race and “Duck, Duck, Goose.”

On Friday, June 9, sixth-grade students went bowling for a sixth-grade celebration. Mr.Martin, Miss Kukla and Miss Dierick’s classes went at 10 a.m. Mrs. Jensen and Ms. Irving’s classes went at 11 a.m. At bowling there was a taco bar. After bowling we had our end of the year parent luncheon. After lunch we got our memory books and we went around asking people to sign them.

There was Egypt Night, every sixth grader was required to complete a project and display it during Egypt Night.

The talent show was full of amazing acts. There were many varieties of people singing and many people dancing. My favorite act was from a fourth grader named Jacob from Ms. Niels’s class. Jacob performed a piece by Mozart on the piano, and solved two Rubik’s Cubes in under 2 minutes.

The sixth graders got to visit the high school for a tour, to see what it looks like and to meet all the teachers for next year.

The sixth-grade band did well this year — they made it to song 100. They made it the furthest in the book ever for sixth-grade band. The day after their evening concert they played for the school volunteers and the whole school and they rocked it. Good work this year band students and I hope you to stay with band.

Mr. Martin’s class had a wiffle ball game against Mrs.Hollatz’s class. And of course my class won (Mr. Martin’s class). We won 15 to 10.

All grades finshed testing, so we got to start the fun things earlier. Friday the 16th was the last day of school, and we got out at 10:20 a.m. I hope everyone has a good summer and hope to see you guys next year.

Halen Hall-Christian recently completed sixth grade at Simpson School. He was in Mr. Martin’s class.
