Entertainment

• Stone Soup Artists songwriters workshop. Open to all local songwriters. Third Thursdays beginning Oct. 20, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Montesano Community Center. Featured songwriter presentation, group discussions and select individual work.

• Stone Soup Artists open mic, every Tuesday, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Organics 101 Market in Montesano (316 S. Main St.). Unplugged acoustic originals.

• A featured artist, duo or small group will perform at 9 p.m. every Thursday at Charlie’s Sports Bar in Montesano. To sign up as an artist, contact Wil Russoul, (360) 500-5334.

• Open pool table every Tuesday at the Elma Senior Center, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Meetings

• The Great Washington ShakeOut at 10:20 a.m. Earthquake drills and tsunami siren tests in the world’s largest earthquake drill. Register at www.shakeout.org/washington.

• The McCleary United Methodist Church (Third and Oak streets) presents a Fall Dinner, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner is $8 per person. On the menu: baked ham, scalloped potatoes, homemade applesauce, veggies, dessert and beverage.

• Elma VFW Auxiliary presents Holiday Bingo, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Elma Grange (401 W. Waldrip Street). Everyone welcome, ages 5 and up. Bake sale and snack bar. Proceeds go toward assisting Christmas families.

• Matlock Grange 357 will host a hunters breakfast, 5 a.m. to noon. Also on Sunday, Oct. 23.

• Elma Senior Center will host an open house with police department staff and first responders, 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.

The symphony performs works by Czech composers including Dvorak, Smetana, Husa and Stamitz. Tickets are $14 adults, $12 seniors, $10 students and free for children ages 12 and under with paid adult admission.
