Entertainment

• A featured artist, duo or small group will perform at 9 p.m. every Thursday at Charlie’s Sports Bar in Montesano. To sign up as an artist, contact Wil Russoul, (360) 500-5334.

• Open pool table every Tuesday at the Elma Senior Center, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Events

• Elma Senior Center hosts pinochle every Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.

• The Elma School District will sponsor Summer Food Program for Children. Meals will be available at no cost to children 18 years and younger. Meals will be served at Elma Middle School. Lunch noon-12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, July 10-Aug. 11.

• GriefShare Meeting, at 7 p.m. on Thursdays at Montesano Church of God, 317 E. Spruce St. in Montesano.

• Elma Timberland Library presents Creature Teachers, Reptile Show, 2-3 p.m. for all ages. Creature Teachers brings an assortment of exotic animals to educate people on the wonders of nature and spark a passion for wildlife.

• Montesano Timberland Library presents Ozobots for teens. Explore coding with Ozobots, small robots you can program to race and dance.

• Oakville Timberland Library presents Hour of Code, 1-2 p.m. for grades 1-12. A one hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code. Bring your own device or use on of the library’s laptops.

• Elma Timberland Library presents WonderWorks: Q-BA-MAZE, 1-5 p.m. for children. Drop-in to explore activities that build math, science and creative thinking skills. Discover Ozobots, small robots you can program to race and dance.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents WonderWorks Simple Machines, 2-4 p.m. for children. Explore activities that build math, science and creative thinking skills.

• Montesano Timberland Library presents LEGO Mindstorms for teens. Learn to build and program siimple robots using LEGO Mindstorms.

• Oakville Timberland Library presents WonderWorks: Ozobots and Code-a-pillar, 2-4 p.m. for children. Explore activities that build math, science and creative thinking skills.

Events

• Bike ride through the woods with Montesano city forester Loren Hiner at Lake Sylvia State Park at 6:30 p.m. Meet by the swimming beach.

At the libraries

• The Timberland Regional Library Board of Trustees will have a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Shelton Timberland Library. The public is encouraged to attend.

• Elma Timberland Library presents Family Storytime, 10:30-11 a.m. for children 3 years-grade 3. Music, movement and books for the whole family. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

• Elma Timberland Library presents Tie-Dyeing, 3-5 p.m. for teens. Create your own tie-dyed T-shirt, socks, shorts or headband. Bring a laundered white item of clothing and library staff will provide the rest.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents Family Storytime, 10:30-11 a.m. for children 2 years-grade 3. Music, movement and books for the whole family. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

• Oakville Timberland Library presents Planet Science, 10:30-11:30 a.m. for children. Play in our topographical sandbox, paint with earth pigments, examine rocks and fossils, make waves and try a seismograph.

• Elma Timberland Library presents Building Challenge: Egg Drop, 2-3 p.m. for all ages. The library will provide materials. Design protective gear to ensure a safe landing for your egg.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents Red Yarn Productions, Music and Puppets, 2-3 p.m. for all ages. Red Yarn (Andy Ferguson) is a dynamic family performer who weaves folksongs and puppetry into an engaging show.

• Montesano Timberland Library presents Pixel Art for teens. Come to the library any time during open hours and use Perler Beads to create pixel art.

Friday, July 28

• 7th Street Kids presents Bugsy Malone at the 7th Street Theatre July 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. and July 30 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens and $5 for children 12 and under.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents Community Scavenger Hunt, 1-2 p.m. for children. Pick up a puzzle and clues at the library. Get to know the local businesses and find the clues around town. Return the completed puzzle for a small prize. Runs through Aug. 15.

• The 9th Annual Heat on the Street Car and Motorcycle Show in Elma kicks offs with a cruise-in from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. The Main Street Show begins Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration fee is $15.
