ORDINANCE NO. 09-15
  AN ORDINANCE relating to ad valorem tax; setting and levying the ad valorem tax levies for the General Fund and the Ambulance Fund of the City of Hoquiam for fiscal year 2010; and
  WHEREAS, the assessed valuation for 2010 taxes of all taxable real and personal property for regular levy purposes within the City of Hoquiam is estimated to be $436,525,005, and for special levy purposes $433,122,999; and
  WHEREAS, the City of Hoquiam has properly given notice of the public hearing held November 23, 2009, to consider the City's revenue sources for the 2010 calendar year current expense budget, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120; NOW THEREFORE
  THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOQUIAM, WASHINTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
  SECTION 1. The ad valorem tax levies of the City of Hoquiam for fiscal year 2010 are levied upon real and personal property subject to taxation in the City, in all assessment districts in the city, and upon each dollar of taxable value as shown by the assessment in Grays Harbor County and certified by the County Assessor, as follows:
In all assessment districts for the payment of:
1) For general purposes, the 2009 property tax levy for collection in 2010 is $1,387,915, ($1,374,173, the amount levied in 2008 for collection in 2009, plus an increase of $13,742 which is an increase of 1.00%), plus an increase equal to the amount allowed under the new construction provisions of RCW 84.55.010 and changes in the assessed value of utilities, estimated to be $16,065.  It is understood that these amounts are based on estimated assessed valuations for 2010 tax collections and it is the intent of the City to levy the maximum amount allowed by law.
2) For emergency medical care or services, an additional property tax levy pursuant to RCW 84.52.069, in an amount equal to fifty cents per thousand dollars of the assessed value of the property within the City, each year for six consecutive years starting with collection in 2005, an amount estimated at $194,990.  It is understood that this amount is based on estimated assessed valuations for 2010 tax collections and it is the intent of the City to levy the maximum amount allowed by law.
  SECTION 2. The ad valorem taxes are levied to raise sufficient revenue to pay the principal and interest payments due in 2010 on the bonded indebtedness of the city, for a portion of the General Fund and for the operation of various city departments for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2010 and ending December 31, 2010.

  AN ORDINANCE adopting the Emergency Medical Services levy upon all taxable property within the City of Cosmopolis for 2010 for all municipal purposes to the maximum authorized by law, and fixing the amount thereof, and

BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Cosmopolis:
Section 1.  There is hereby levied upon all taxable property, both real and personal, situated within the City of Cosmopolis, Grays Harbor County, Washington a municipal tax for which the City is authorized by law to levy as follows:
Emergency Medical Service             Approximately $.50 per thousand assessed valuation
Section 2. That this ordinance and the levy herein provided for shall be certified by the City Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Cosmopolis, Washington to the appropriate officials of Grays Harbor County, Montesano, Washington as required by law.

  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Cosmopolis that no increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the 2010 levy in the amount of $52,520 which represents an amount that can lawfully be levied, plus new construction and improvements and increase in value of state-assessed property.
