• “Sweeten a Child’s Life,” the Grayland Children’s Hospital Guild’s annual artisan show, will take place from 2-7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Tokeland Hotel. Local and regional vendors will offer artwork and crafts. There will also be several raffle items; winners will receive them Sunday afternoon. The hotel will also serve meals. •James Clarkson, UFO investigator, will present a report of his examination of the Elk River UFO crash retrieval incident of 1979, along with highlights from the seventh annual UFO Crash Retrieval Conference at 1 p.m. at Westport Timberland Library, 101 E. Harms Ave. Clarkson has completed ongoing and specialized training from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission in criminal investigation and police operations. He retired from the Aberdeen Police Department after 20 years.

• An Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support group for care partners, family members and friends of individuals with memory loss will meet from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Ocean Shores United Methodist Church, 557 Point Brown Ave. NW. • The Mark Reed Health Care District commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at the Microtel Inn due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The agenda includes a hearing on the proposed budget for 2010.

• Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups provide opportunities for people to learn, share and gain emotional support from others who are also caring for someone with dementia. Recognizing that some rural caregivers find it challenging to attend traditional support groups, the association has a telephone support group that offers the benefits of a face-to-face group without the need to leave home. The toll-free teleconference will be available from 7:30 to 9 p.m., facilitated by registered nurse Barbara Bridges.
